BMW 760i XDrive Monaco — Executive M Saloon for Côte d'Azur Transfers

May 2026 · 7 min read · FFGR Monaco Fleet Team

The BMW 760i XDrive is the performance apex of the G70 7 Series generation: a 544 hp twin-turbocharged V8 sedan with BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system, active rear-axle steering, and a suite of driver assistance technologies that make it one of the most capable long-distance executive saloons currently available. For FFGR Monaco clients requiring an alternative to the Mercedes S-Class format — clients who prefer BMW's driver-focused character, or who are collecting from the BMW Monaco dealership and want continuity — the 760i provides the full spectrum of executive saloon capability with a distinctly different character.

544 hp Twin-Turbocharged V8 and xDrive

The 760i's 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine — BMW designation M60B44 — produces 544 hp and 750 Nm of torque, with the full torque figure available from 1,800 rpm. The eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission routes power through xDrive, BMW's electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system, which operates predominantly in rear-drive mode under normal conditions and shifts up to 50 per cent of torque to the front axle within fractions of a second when traction conditions require. The zero to 100 km/h time is 4.0 seconds for the 2,280 kg saloon — marginally quicker than the heavier Maybach S680 — and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The active rear-axle steering system steers the rear wheels by up to 3 degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels at speeds below 60 km/h, effectively reducing the turning circle by approximately 0.4 metres. At speeds above 60 km/h, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the fronts by up to 2 degrees, improving stability at motorway speeds. In Monaco, where the combination of tight streets and high-speed autoroute approach is daily use, the variable steering characteristic is continuously active and meaningfully improves the vehicle's manageability.

M Sport Package and Driving Character

The FFGR Monaco 760i fleet vehicles are specified with the M Sport package, which adds M Sport brakes, M Sport suspension with 10 mm lower ride height, M aerodynamic bodywork, and 21-inch M wheels with mixed-profile tyres. The M Sport suspension retains the electronically controlled dampers of the standard 760i but recalibrates the damping rates for a firmer primary ride and reduced body lean in cornering. The combination of active rear steering and M Sport calibration gives the 760i a handling character that is noticeably more engaging than the more comfort-focused S-Class configuration.

The Integral Active Steering system combines the front active steering variable ratio with the rear axle steering, and the Active Comfort Drive system uses GPS map data and forward camera inputs to pre-adjust the suspension for known road features — a programmed corner, a known speed bump — before the vehicle reaches them. On the Corniche roads between Monaco and Menton, the system can reference the stored road data from previous traversals and adapt the chassis behaviour accordingly.

Pre-Collision Warning and Motorway Assist

The BMW 760i carries the full suite of Level 2 autonomous driving assistance as standard: Driving Assistant Professional includes active cruise control with Stop & Go function, lane centring assist, emergency stop assist, and the steering and lane control assistant. On the A8 autoroute between Monaco and Nice — a 30-kilometre section of motorway with predictable traffic and well-marked lanes — the Driving Assistant Professional manages speed and lane position with minimal driver input, allowing the FFGR chauffeur to focus on client interaction and arrival preparation.

The Frontal Collision Warning system uses forward radar and camera data to detect stationary, slow-moving, and crossing vehicles and applies braking assistance within 20 milliseconds of a detected threat. The system is calibrated to intervene at warning level approximately 2.5 seconds before a projected collision, giving the driver response time before automatic braking is applied. At Monaco's Casino Square, where pedestrian movement across vehicle lanes is constant, the system provides an additional layer of protection against the unexpected.

Executive Rear Compartment and Technology

The 760i's rear compartment in standard configuration offers heated and ventilated rear seats with massage function, rear-seat entertainment screens in the front headrests, and the BMW Curved Display — the 12.3-inch instrument cluster paired with the 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen — visible from the rear through the central console. The Executive Lounge Seating package, specified on the FFGR fleet vehicles, adds 42.5-degree rear seat recline, extending leg rest, and fold-out foot rest from the front seat back.

The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System carries 36 speakers and 1,965 watts of amplification, with diamond dome tweeters — a material choice that extends the high-frequency response beyond the range of conventional aluminium dome units — and a centre speaker on the dashboard fascia for vocal clarity in front and rear. The system's surround mode creates a listening field that wraps around all four occupant positions rather than projecting sound from speaker locations, an acoustic presentation that FFGR clients consistently report as the most distinctive feature of the 760i's interior.
