Corsica to Monaco — Ferry, Nice Ferryport & Private Car Transfer

May 2026 · 7 min read · FFGR Monaco Team

Corsica's northern coast — particularly Bastia and the Cap Corse peninsula — is just ninety miles from the Côte d'Azur, making it a natural extension of the summer yachting itinerary. Guests arriving from Ajaccio or Bastia by ferry face the final connection from Nice's ferry terminal to Monaco: a straightforward journey by car that nonetheless benefits enormously from professional handling. FFGR Monaco coordinates the full land-side for Corsica-to-Monaco ferry arrivals, offering Mercedes V-Class and Rolls-Royce services from the port of Nice to any destination along the Riviera.

Corsica Ferry Routes to Nice

Corsica Ferries and La Méridionale operate the principal services between Corsican ports and Nice. The Bastia-to-Nice crossing takes between five and seven hours depending on the vessel and sea conditions, with departures typically in the evening and arrivals in the early morning. The Ajaccio-to-Nice route is slightly longer, and seasonal services also operate from L'Île-Rousse and Calvi. All services dock at the Nice Ferryport, located in the eastern port area near the Lympia basin.

For guests travelling in first-class or private cabin accommodation on the ferry, disembarkation is typically prioritised, meaning arrival at the quayside can be as early as 06:30 on an overnight sailing. FFGR Monaco positions vehicles at the ferry terminal in advance, with the driver monitoring the vessel's AIS position through the final hour of the crossing to confirm a precise meeting time.

Nice Ferryport: Meeting & Logistics

The Nice Ferryport is a working commercial port rather than a leisure marina, and its vehicle access and pedestrian routes differ significantly from the airports and pleasure ports where most of our transfers operate. Our drivers are specifically briefed on the Lympia basin access road, the correct vehicle position for passenger disembarkation and the luggage collection area where vehicles must line up under the port authority's management.

For groups disembarking with luggage — including sailing gear, bicycle cases or sports equipment from a Corsican holiday — our Mercedes V-Class seats seven passengers with generous luggage capacity in the rear. For larger groups or particularly voluminous cargo, we deploy a Sprinter van alongside the principal passenger vehicle to ensure all luggage travels in a single, managed convoy to the destination.

Nice to Monaco: Morning Transfer

The early morning transfer from Nice Ferryport to Monaco — typically between 06:30 and 08:00 — is one of the most pleasant journeys on the Côte d'Azur. The autoroute is quiet, the light is exceptional and the view of Monaco's skyline appearing above Cap Martin is a fitting introduction to the Principality. Our driver is briefed to offer the scenic coastal route via the Basse Corniche if traffic permits and if the client prefers a scenic arrival over maximum speed.

For clients arriving early enough to need breakfast before checking into their hotel, FFGR Monaco can route the transfer via one of the Riviera's exceptional morning venues: the Grand Café de Turin in Nice for a traditional seafood breakfast, or a boulangerie stop in Villefranche-sur-Mer with a view of the bay. These small additions to the transfer are arranged in advance through the client's preference briefing.

Seven-Seat Van Service for Families & Groups

The Corsica-to-Monaco ferry journey is popular with families, sailing groups and multi-generation parties whose combined luggage and equipment volumes exceed what a standard sedan can accommodate. FFGR Monaco's Mercedes V-Class is specifically configured for these transfers: it seats up to seven passengers in business-class configuration, carries a substantial rear luggage volume and offers the comfort of individual climate control and privacy glass.

For boat crews returning to Monaco from a Corsican delivery voyage — travelling as a group of four to six with personal bags, sailing gear and ship's stores — the V-Class provides the ideal balance of passenger comfort and cargo capacity. Our operations team confirms the group size and luggage manifest before each transfer to ensure the correct vehicle configuration is dispatched.

Connecting to Onward Destinations

Not all ferry passengers have Monaco as their final destination. FFGR Monaco offers direct transfers to any point on the Côte d'Azur: Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Menton, Èze, Cap Ferrat and the Italian Riviera cities of Ventimiglia and San Remo. For guests continuing to Italy, we coordinate border crossing timing and, where appropriate, introduce the client to our Italian partner at the Ventimiglia point for seamless onward service.

For yacht owners meeting their vessel in a Côte d'Azur port after a Corsican stay — the owner having flown back to Monaco while the yacht was handled by the delivery crew — we provide the complete arrival-to-vessel sequence: ferry terminal collection, hotel or marina delivery and coordination with the captain for the return aboard.
