The Mercedes-Benz V-Class in the FFGR Monaco fleet is not the standard commercial variant: it is the Klassen-converted VIP configuration, with a rear compartment that replaces the factory seating with four or six individual captain's chairs in a club-layout arrangement, individual entertainment screens, leather upholstery throughout, and a conversion quality that meets the specification standard of the best business aircraft cabins. For groups of four to seven passengers — yacht crews collecting guests from the airport, corporate delegations transferring between Monte-Carlo hotels and private dining venues — the V-Class provides the group travel capability that no saloon or SUV can match.
Klassen VIP Conversion Specification
Klassen Vehicle Manufacturer GmbH is a German conversion specialist whose VIP conversion programme for the Mercedes V-Class is recognised as the benchmark for the category. The FFGR Monaco V-Class vehicles are converted to the Business Luxury specification, which replaces the standard factory interior with individual Nappa leather captain's chairs in a four-seat club arrangement — two pairs facing each other across a fold-out work table — or a six-seat configuration with a centre console and individual armrests. The headlining is replaced with alcantara, the floor with deep-pile carpet, and all hard surfaces with a combination of carbon fibre and piano black trim.
The conversion adds a built-in refrigerator unit capable of holding four 750 ml bottles, individual reading lights with touch-sensitive controls, 110-volt and USB-C charging points at each seat position, and rear-zone climate control separate from the front cabin. The window tinting meets the privacy standard applicable in Monaco while remaining road-legal across the French-Italian-Monegasque border crossings that the vehicle routinely makes.
Yacht Group and Marina Logistics
The primary use case for the V-Class in the FFGR Monaco fleet is yacht group transfers: the owner's guests arriving at Nice Airport, the crew transfer to and from Port Hercule, and the group excursion to the hill villages or the Riviera coast. In all of these scenarios, the group requires a single vehicle that can accommodate seven passengers with hand luggage — a configuration that the V-Class handles with ease and that would require two saloons or an SUV plus a saloon to replicate.
Port Hercule has specific vehicle access protocols during the yacht season. FFGR maintains the Monegasque vehicle access permit for Port Hercule quayside access, which allows our V-Class to drive to within 30 metres of a vessel's gangway for embarkation and disembarkation. For superyachts berthed at the outer sections of the port — particularly during the Monaco Yacht Show in September — we coordinate the precise quayside position with the vessel's first officer or captain to ensure the vehicle is correctly placed before the guests descend.
Corporate Group and Conference Transfers
Monaco hosts a significant number of corporate conferences annually — the Monaco Media Forum, the SALT Conference, the Yacht Club events, and the various Monte-Carlo SBM events across the Casino and Hotels de Paris properties. For corporate groups of five to seven attending the same programme, the V-Class provides a meeting room on wheels: the club layout with facing seats allows briefing, debriefing, or working sessions during the transfer.
FFGR provides the V-Class with an optional connectivity package for corporate group use: a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot capable of supporting seven devices simultaneously, a conference call speaker system that connects via Bluetooth to the occupants' devices, and a privacy partition between the driver and the rear compartment that is standard on the Klassen conversion. The connectivity package is charged separately and is available with 24 hours' notice for conferences where group transfer briefing time has commercial value.
Extended Riviera Excursions
The V-Class is the natural choice for extended group excursions from Monaco to the wider Riviera: the Luberon markets, the Saint-Paul-de-Vence galleries, the Eze perfumery visits, or the day trip to Portofino via the Italian Riviera. For journeys of two to four hours, the Klassen interior's individual seating, independent climate control, and entertainment provision make the journey itself a comfortable experience rather than a necessary transit.
FFGR operates the V-Class for full-day excursions with a fixed departure and return time, with the vehicle and chauffeur available throughout the day. For groups requiring restaurant reservations, museum entry coordination, or private tour arrangements at the destination, our concierge service — which operates through the Monaco office — can arrange the full programme in advance. The V-Class driver carries the day's itinerary and coordinates timing with the concierge team in real time.
